Hanna, no you dont need to study the topics that are not in the syllabus. It is not a conversion course it simply recognises previous learning.

Does it mean that I still need to cover in my preparation chapters like Project Office, Project Sponsorship, Issue Management etc?
I was told by my training provider ILX that I dont need to prepare those chapters and I wont have questions from these areas on my exam.

I am a strong supporter of common approach to reduce the burden on cross-training and administrative support. With the government/OGC support behind Prince this had stood me in good stead on programmes but I see the advantage of a blended teaching of APM and Prince, as the latter does little to actually guide people in what project/programme management really is about.
